Threading and tinting are the two most popular brow services at our Oshawa salon, and they do completely different jobs. Here is how to tell which one you need — or why you might want both.
What Threading Does
Threading shapes. Using a twisted cotton thread, your artist removes brow hairs with precision to create a clean, defined shape. It is fast, gentle on skin, and removes even the finest hairs without the chemicals or heat of waxing — which is why it suits sensitive skin so well.
What Tinting Does
Tinting defines colour. A semi-permanent dye darkens the brow hairs (and the fine ones you can barely see), making brows look fuller and more polished without makeup. It is ideal if your brows are light, sparse, or grey, and typically lasts a few weeks.
Thread to set the shape, then tint so the colour follows those clean lines. Doing it in that order gives the most defined, natural-looking result.
Which Should You Choose?
Choose threading if your brows are full but need shaping and tidying. Choose tinting if the shape is fine but the brows look pale or thin. Many clients do both together for a groomed, fuller look. Wondering how often to come in? See our guide on threading frequency, or compare threading vs waxing.
Threading gives your brows their shape; tinting gives them their impact — together they are hard to beat.
